The following guide will teach you how to migrate your game server and data from GTXGaming to Citadel Servers.
This is a general migration guide. For game-specific instructions, please see our Specific Game Articles Section.

Important: We strongly recommend stopping your GTXGaming server before transferring any files. This ensures that all save data, databases, worlds, mods, and configuration files are fully saved and prevents corruption during migration.

Migrating from GTXGaming to Citadel Servers

Step 1: Create a Backup in GTXGaming

Before beginning the migration process, create a full backup through your GTXGaming control panel.

This backup can be used as a recovery point if any files are accidentally omitted or overwritten during the transfer.

Step 2: Download Your Server Files

Access your GTXGaming File Manager or connect using FTP to download your server files.

We recommend downloading all important data, including:

• World saves
• Maps and custom worlds
• Mods and workshop content
• Plugins
• Configuration files
• Custom scripts
• Player profiles and permissions

Save the files to your local computer before proceeding.

Step 3: Upload Files to Citadel Servers

Connect to your Citadel Servers service using FTP or the Game Panel File Manager.

Upload the files downloaded from GTXGaming into the appropriate directories on your Citadel Servers service.

FTP is recommended for larger servers and game worlds due to faster transfer speeds and greater reliability.

You can follow our FTP setup guide here: FTP Guide

Step 4: Verify Server Configuration

Before starting your server, verify that:

• The correct game version is installed
• Mods, plugins, and workshop content were uploaded successfully
• Configuration files transferred correctly
• Startup parameters match your previous setup
• Administrative permissions are configured properly

Step 5: Start and Test Your Server

Start your Citadel Servers service and confirm that all content was migrated successfully.

• Worlds load correctly
• Player data is present
• Mods and plugins function properly
• Players can connect without issues

Alternative Method: Upload a Backup Archive

If you created a backup archive from GTXGaming, you may upload it directly to your Citadel Servers service through the File Manager.

After uploading, extract the archive and place the files into their proper server directories.

Common Migration Issues
